Chuck:

Got the rotary connect today via UPS

like it for the backswing but can't get it to widen to use for my hip spinning problem.  Can you pull it apart as hard as it takes?  Or is there a special trick?  The button won't push in very easily so it's stuck in the shortest position.

Gregg,
Push in the button and rotate the two halves of the connecting rod.  See if that helps.

I just got my Rotary Connect last week and gave it a shot in my basement last night.  The good thing is my work on the takeaway has paid off to the point where my arms are not disconnected.  Still need to work on elevation and such, but this device sure reinforces those principles.  Just doing a couple of move 2's, it feels very different of what i was working on.  I must have been coming a little out of the box at the top.  My main issue is I hit my basement ceiling.  I am going to snap a picture of DL and see if I am on the right track.  Can't wait until March or whenever it gets warm over here to test this out on the driving range!

I finally got the chance to use mine today and only did a few 9-3 and 3/4 swings...

I was AMAZED at how consistent (height) and straight my ball flight was. I have been playing golf for 10 years now and I am just now realizing what a STRAIGHT ball flight looks like! Even when I missed a few (my miss is a push) the ball was still trying to draw back to the left. The sound of impact was alot different  and I could really tell I was compressing the ball.

I also own the Bob Burns Chicken Wing swing trainer (Elastic Bands that go around your biceps and keep the arms connected) and this works alot better. I think it was because I can focus on the feeling of pressure on the inside of my biceps rather than the bands applying pressure from the outside.

I am only limiting myself to the 9-3 and 3/4 drills for a while, but I can't wait to see what it will do for my full swing.

Great product Chuck! Clap

This is a fundamental difference between the RC and other "connection" aids.  The muscles responds to the tension or compression on them.  The RC promotes slight tension pulling the biceps together.  The aids that bind up the arms with straps or bands promote pulling the arms apart and are, therefore, counter-productive.

I had a student on the tee the other day hitting straight balls with it.  His usual flight is a hard draw.  He started hitting these soft baby cuts after a while.  He looked at me with a grin: "I've been playing golf since I was a kid and have never hit a soft fade like that."  He is 62-years old.   He then took off the RC and kept hitting them.

This is a great learning tool.

Well I received mine and it is helping.

A question I have now is I tried the drill for the legs and what I noticed IMMEDIATELY is my hips don't feel like they turn at all.

For a hip spinner would this be the feeling that I should expect?

If you're a big-time hip spinner, this will feel like a significant reduction in hip rotation.   It may feel like they're not turning a'la the belt buckle drill.

Rayvil01,

Ya I thought so. I put it on video yesterday and being a spinner/slider (this was pointed out to me by Bill) It definitely feels like less hip movement, like you said almost like none. On video it shows that I am more stable and I don't slide. This has then helped with M3.

I found the Rotary Connect to help my lower body and in turn it helped my upper 1/2 as well.

What I find VERY interesting and it just never clicked was that the stability is giving me more torque and it turn more power. Before when I would spin/slide I was taking away from the torque.

Less effort more power and best of all more spin on the ball...

Just using it on the lower body, the Rotary connect has been one of my best investments.
